farisdan

Also known as Anatihanadan or “Final Home of the Elves”, Farisdan is the capitol city of the ancient Elven province of Far Who Neh, the only elven kingdom to survive the reality-warping destruction of the Shattering Era. While the other elven provinces of the Middlewood were swallowed up by magical disaster, Farisdan became the seat of the Elven Court during the First Imperial War when the Jeshir Empire incited a genocide against all fey on the continent known as the Western Pinnacle. The elven kingdom of Green Lay was destroyed in -500 Imperial Age and the elves fled across the sea to Farisdan where the court established its presence and spent the next millennium gathering their scattered people and rebuilding. In the year 545 Second Imperial Age, the elves launched a vicious offensive against the western coasts of the Jeshir Empire and the emperor, already pressed by a turmoil within the empire agreed to a Treaty of Reparations, rescinding the order of genocide against all fey peoples. Farsidan now maintains an embassy in the Jeshinese port of Bright View, and although elves are hardly safe within the empire, the law no longer sanctions their execution.

Farisdan is a truly beautiful city that seeks to meld the advances of the high elves with the timeless bond to nature of the wood and wild elves. Homes and other buildings in Farisdan are grown by their druids or wizards from natural materials rather than constructed, and the elves keep to their ancient role as the Restorers by wasting nothing and working with nature, rather than against it. Thus, the city of Farsidan weaves through the trees of the Heartwood like a natural wind. Farisdan is ruled over by a Queen Ramnalana, the matriarch of the Starsvalian family, and her seven children, princes and princesses of the elven kingdom. The queen is advised by the Elven Council, made up of matriarchs and patriarchs of the noble elven clans that survived the flight from the ancient elven capitol of Green Lay. In Farisdan, age and wisdom are valued over other traits, and smaller elven communities within the kingdom are led by a speaker who is usually the oldest member of the community. After preparing for the Great Reprisal against the Jeshir Empire for years, Farisdan closed its borders to outsiders, but the city-state has once again opened itself to the outside world, even allowing human settlers to its lands. Farisdan is defended by the magic of the Green Spire, a towering magical tree that dominates the landscape and can be seen for miles in any direction. The enchanted tree gives the elves magical control of the growing green things within the borders of the city and beyond, and it is one of the primary protections that keeps the Elven Lands sovereign and protects them from invasion.
