Matt has been wandering others worlds since he was old enough to pretend to mage-duel Venger from the Saturday morning Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. Later he would spend hours reading the original D&D red box set and devouring the lore and rules. Becoming a Dungeon Master was less a choice and more a calling and after 30 years as a DM, he has no intention of stopping now. With a passion for fantasy literature, Matt earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Brigham Young University and spent summers working on his first novel, A Sundered Magic, which he hopes to publish soon. He later returned for a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design and now works full time in Student Advocacy.
Matt has been creating D&D spells, classes, campaign lore since childhood and recently took that beloved hobby into the professional arena by publishing World of the Witch, a guide to creating witch characters and adventures for both 4th and 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons. A former missionary, Matt conceived Holy Rollerz out of a desire to create a space for conservative people of faith in the D&D community and the belief that D&D is for everyone. Live streaming the game he loves with friends who have become brothers is an act of joy and love.

Having been first introduced to D&D 18 years ago (by Matt), Ryan has played as player and DM ever since. When he can't get together with Matt, he plays with his brothers, and he has introduced the game to his children. Besides D&D, Ryan is an avid reader of fantasy, movie buff, and a bit of a gamer. Professionally, Ryan taught junior high and high school English and Spanish before completing Master's Degree from the University of Utah. He is now an elementary school principal and proud father of six.
The campaign concept for Holy Rollerz was based on a campaign Ryan and Matt played several years ago. The original "Divine Council" included two characters played by Ryan, whose fate is currently unknown. Besides Holy Rollerz, Ryan is DM for a 4e Scales of War campaign and 5e campaign he plays with his kids.

JT has always had an imagination bigger than any room he was in. As a child, timeouts weren’t a particularly effective form of punishment for him. He’d take that time to pretend he was his favorite hero engaged in pitched battle and his parents would end up having to convince him that his time in timeout was over. He loved, and still loves, devouring any fantasy/comic content he can get his hands on. His loves include: Marvel Universe (especially Wolverine), DCU, Star Wars, Ninja Turtles, He-Man, LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Trek, and all other things fantastical. Sprinkle in a robust love for sports, especially football and basketball, and you get a picture who JT is.
JT is relatively new to D&D. Several years back he met Matt and found that they shared many things in common. Something they didn’t share at the time was a love of D&D. With Matt as a friend and DM, JT came to love D&D. Interacting in a fantasy world with his friends, and creating characters that learn and grow, have hooked JT into proudly flying his D&D fandom flag! JT is a marketer by trade. He received his undergraduate degree in Marketing and then obtained an MBA with a marketing focus. All along the way he worked at various marketing agencies and in-house marketing departments. While marketing provides interesting vocational pursuits, JT finds a lot of creative joy in being a part of Holy Rollerz. As a former missionary, it’s fantastic to be part of a group that’s proof positive that there’s room for everyone in D&D.

Ben has been vaguely familiar with D&D since he was about 8. But he never played. He’s played many video games and RPGs over the years which have similar mechanics. Yet he still never played D&D. He got a degree in freaking game design (mostly animation but I also made games) and yet he STILL NEVER PLAYED! BUT… having befriended many wizards and rogues over the years, he picked up the gist of how to play from simply being around them. It’s amazing what you can learn from simple observations. (I rolled insight with advantage!)
It wasn’t until a ginger bearded sorcerer (his name is Matt) reached out to Ben in 2018 for some artwork when the wheels started turning. Mere months after their first meeting, Ben was invited to his first D&D experience…and the noob was hooked.
Having always been captivated by Sci-Fi and fantasy, Ben was compelled to create and draw since he was only knee high. He was well into adulthood when he started taking it seriously but by then it was too late! Alderaan had been destroyed, the Fire Nation had attacked, and Gollum already had The One Ring. So he was left with only one thing to scratch that creative itch…join the Holy Rollerz crew.
